Can anyone give me any tips or suggestions for an okayish underwater camera?
My girlfriend and I are just finishing uni, so we've have splashed out on a tour up the east coast of Oz in september and we get to dive in the Whitsundays and Cairns areas and I'd really love to be able to get some nice underwater photos, but don't have huge amounts of money left to get a camera.
Thanks!

Hi Dobby1303

"don't have huge amounts of money left" is a rather relative statement. Can you give us a general range of what you are able to spend? There are lots of Okayish cameras out there but, if you give people an idea of how much wonga you can spend, I'd imagine you'll get a more useful response. My first digital camera was the Fuji Finepix F50 with an Epoque strobe and I got really nice shots but, if you don't have a lot of money, suggesting camera with strobes is a waste of your time. Best tip I can give you, regardless of what you decide to purchase, is practise with it on land before you get in the water. I've seen a lot of divers who have decided to buy cameras for their holidays, but not bothered to try them out before the holiday and wasted several days diving before they start to get anything close to a decent shot (one guy, a good friend, had 3 trips before he knew what the macro button was for). Best of luck!

Thanks for that! I've actually managed to get in contact with Maria Munn who has been a great help and I've bought an Intova package for £350, which technically was more than I had but should prove to be rather good!
